This guide introduces you to some key resources for company, industry, and country information.
To research a company, 1) visit its website, 2) search for books about the company using PowerSearch, 3) use the sources introduced in this guide for company history, financials, analyst reports, news, etc., and 4) analyze the industry and country environments relevant to the company.
Please note that a private company normally is under no obligation to make its accounts or other financial information publicly available, hence, researching private company information can be very challenging.
If you need help with your research, feel free to contact Celia Cheung (Business Librarian).
Enter the company name in the Google box to find the company's website. If it is a listed company, there would be a page on its website, normally called "investor relations" or "investors", to provide the company's financial information (such as filings and annual reports), stock information, press releases, corporate governance details, etc.
To find books or e-books about a company, use PowerSearch. Simply enter the company name to search.
