Promotion Channels

Promoting your work can maximize its potential and build up its impact throughout the research community. Here are tips and suggestions that may help increase the visibility of your published articles.

  • Network with 250 million professional members around the world via Linkedin.
  • Add your articles to your personal CiteULike Library.
  • Organize your research, collaborate with others and discover the latest research areas in collaborative academic communities.
  • Produce a video that relates to your published article and upload it individually or via publishers’ channels.
  • Share your articles or inform other users about them in your academic community blogs.

It can help integrate your published work and support automated linkages between you and your professional activities (e.g. awarded grants or any research workflow) ensuring that you get credit for your work. Register on ORCID. Add details of the article to your ORCID record and link your ORCID to your other identifiers, such as Scopus or ResearcherID or LinkedIn. Create ORCID iD via HKUST System. Include your ORCID identifier when submitting papers.

Institutional Repository / Open Access Repository

Submit the pre-published version of your articles to HKUST Institutional Repository (HKUST IR) or other open access repositories, e.g. arXiv, Social Science Research Network (SSRN). The Library (for HKUST IR) or you can update your entry with a link to the published version of the record.
