RefWorks: Write-N-Cite



Write-N-Cite is a tool that allows users (See FAQ - System Requirements) to run RefWorks in their word processor. With Write-N-Cite, users can create a document with in-text references easily. To use this feature, you must first download and install the Write-N-Cite program on your computer. In RefWorks, go to Tools, then choose Write-N-Cite. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions.

If you are using Write-N-Cite from off-campus, you must configure the setting by loading the WNC Proxy Configuration Utility:

For Windows Users:

  • Install Write-N-Cite as detailed above.
  • Click Start, select Programs and RefWorks.
  • Select WNC Proxy Configuration Utility.
  • Enter in the Proxy Server URL box:
  • Click OK.

For Mac Users:

  • Install Write-N-Cite as detailed above.
  • Start Write-N-Cite.
  • Select Preferences from the Write-N-Cite menu.
  • Select the Proxy options and type:
  • Restart Write-N-Cite.
